It's one of the Canon's newly launched(Q4 last year) All-in-One/Multifunction Inkjet series targeted towards business consumer. I'm in no way into a business with this one. But the fact that the market in my city didn't have the home consumer targeted models, only pre-orders. Without any research into these.
Fax isn't what I would need daily or even once a month, but didn't feel like compromising for a two grand inferior model. This piece looks big solid brief case carrying all your uber army equipments. At first sight I was left wondering where I would place it, but luckily there's enough room for it! Height is not a lot(~18cm) and is even throughout the body, which makes me easily manage for space. Lots of settings are saved directly on the printer, instead of saving on the computer. Impressed by this because I upgraded from a good 'ol one. 
Impressed by the capabilities as well, including copying, scanning, fax and printing of course. I wonder if Canon could include a handset as well, but that makes another reason to always keep it connected to the phone line. This is a brief recall of my views whole evening and now, on this piece doing great job! Maybe in summers I'll post a detailed review, because it'll definitely be helping many in deciding. Currently, I have been unable to find any review of this machine at all.
And yes, the main reason for the purchase was my university project works, and photo prints, besides copying(ਫੋਟੋ-ਸਟੇਟ 
), which now I find very handy and useful!

No info abt number of copies...
I din't found anywhere how many copies it prints black/color per cartrige with normal(default) quality settings.
Watch the inkjet cartridges prices
This is a nice printer but the inkjet cartridges are really expensive. They are the CL-41(tri-color) and PG-40(black). We have had customers complaining that the ink waste pad fills up rather quickly and gives you a stop error. You would have to replace it for the machine to continue to print.
We sell recycled ink cartridges for this machine at a cheaper price than the originals and we place more ink in the cartridges.
The only draw back is that the ink level indicator must be disabled because the printer recognizes these as recycled and refilled and an annoying popup comes up every time you want to print.
But other than that our customers love them. If you have any other printers take a look at our other printer ink products.
